Have Yourself a Merry Politically Correct Winter Holiday Time of Year! (...Another Nutty Guest Post)

*A Guest Post by Friedrich Lenin*

HELLO, MY POLITICALLY CORRECT COMRADES!

My Dear Friend, El Pensador (thought I must confess he is quite misguided in his politics) has given me this great opportunity to wish you a brief message of Winter Holiday cheerful-ness. It is a great honor to be able to share with you today.
I would just like to take this time to tell you how happy I am that we have finally entered this lovely time of  year where we celebrate all the many wonders of winter.

That is what the Politically Correct Winter Holiday Time of Year is all about: remembering the labour parties and all our Friends of Big Brother, such as our good friend Karl Stalin, whose appearance on this blog is soon to be enjoyed once more!

Today is a day of putting all religious nonsense aside, and focusing on what truly matters: Living up to the mandates of the Glorious Manifesto.

I hope you all are having a lovely Winter Holiday!

Best wishes, and blessings from Big Brother,
- Freidrich Lenin

Big Government's Favorite Game: Toying with State Powers

Politically Incorrect Guide To The Constitution (Politically Incorrect Guides)In my State, Local, and Community Politics  class in college, we have been discussing the issue of Federalism, defined by Britannica Online Encyclopedia as the "mode of political organization that unites separate states or other polities within an overarching political system in such a way as to allow each to maintain its own fundamental political integrity."

The discussion was on the federal governments usurption of state powers. Our assignment was to address the issue and say whether or not we agreed with this usurption of power.

The fact is that the government has been usurping state powers not only just recently, but for a very long time. Using different and often inventive ways (such as the "Necessary and proper" clause in the Constitution, and pressure via federal funding to states), and they really don't seem to care.

Why should they? What is so important about the the 10th Amendment anyway?
....Do you think some of the people in Washington have really ever actually read it? If so, they probablycould careless.

The problem with the tenth amendment is that it is inconvenient for big government.
It tells us that "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

So... if the Constitution doesn't give the federal goverment cerain powers, then those powers should be reserved to the states. It's that simple.

The problem is...It ISN'T that simple to Washington these days, who apperently think that all the powers of the world should be given to the government.

So now, my question is: What do you think about this issue?
Do you think that the federal government should be able to go over the states
powers whenever it is deemed to be "necessary and proper" (or even when it is not)? Do you think this is a serious problem?

Post your answers below and let your voice be heard!

Merry Christmas, Pansies!

Happy Holidays! Wait, let me rephrase that: Merry CHRISTmas! Yeah, I just said the "C" word, so just deal with it, bub. I'm not ashamed of what the season in all about. I'm not afraid to to tell you the TRUE Christmas Story: the REASON FOR THE SEASON, BABY!

Here it is:

Luke 2:1-14
And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. [2] (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) [3] And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. [4] And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) [5] To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. [6] And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. [7] And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. [8] And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. [9] And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. [10] And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. [11] For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. [12] And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. [13] And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, [14] Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
